The FarmEden Hills is a 75-acre farm located in Eden Township, in central Iowa. I've lived in my home on a seven-acre parcel since December, 1998, and I added the sixty-eight acres surrounding it in 2010. While you might think of Iowa farmland as flat, I have many hills on my farm. That's how it got its name. |
The Crops
Currently, I hire my nephew to custom farm for me. We have 24 acres planted in crops, rotating between soybeans and corn. We use no-till and contour farming to help reduce erosion.
Along with the row crops, we make hay from the waterways and the pasture. This is used to feed my animals through the winter.

The Animals
There's plenty of animals on the farm: chickens, geese, peafowl, goats, llamas, cats and a dog.
